WS-SC2430 wellsee three-stage solar controller (also called wellsee photovoltaic controller /solar charge and discharge controller ), applies in solar photovoltaic system which coordinates the working of solar panels, batteries and loads. This controller is different from other solar controllers which has advanced three -stage charging function that can make battery fully charge battery and also increase the comprehensive protective functions so that the entire system can operate efficiently and safely. 

 

Wellsee three -stage solar controller is totally different from other controllers with three stage charging mode:it charges by battery charging characteristic curve and adopts to intelligent three steps charging mode “constant current- constant voltage and limited current-Purling floating”,It make the battery full of power and it has advanced human-machine interactive function that user can adjust charging voltage.

 

Three-stage charging mode (take 12V system as an example.)

1.Constant current fully charge stage: directly charging battery by using constant current output characteristic until the voltage of battery is up to 13.7V(can be set)

2. Constant voltage charge stage: controlled by PWM, the battery voltage is kept at 13.7V, till charge current is less than Purling current floating charge voltage;

3. Purling current floating charge stage: continue to control by PWM and keep the charge current keep in floating status until battery voltage is up to 14.2V, charging is over.

 

If the started voltage of battery is higher than the lowest protection voltage, the system will go to the Purling current floating charge stage automatically to prevent frequent overcharging; if started charge voltage is lower than the lowest protection voltage, the system will go to three-stage charge mode.

 

Three-stage charge mode uses constant current charging at the beginning and the end, and uses constant voltage charging in the intermediate stage. When the current is decayed to the set value, it switches from the second stage to the third stage. This mode can make the outlet minimum to protect the battery better and really charge the battery fully.

 

WS--SC2430 Wellsee three-Stage charge controller applies to all types of solar panel and lead-acid batteries(other types of batteries can be set charging curve according to customer’s requirement), MCU (Micro processing controller) has PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) program. Summary: The solar controller is the most important part of the solar system. It can intelligently and automatically control the charge, discharge and load of the system. The performance of the controller is related with the stability of the system, especially the lifetime of the batteries. CQ series solar controller will supply perfect protection functions for the batteries, and it will make battery work reliably. And the controller could be widely used in the solar system such as lamps, pastoral, frontier and island and so on, it is also could be used for mobile basics, microwave stations and traffic systems.

 

Theory introduction: Use the industrial MCU as the host controller. By sensing the ambient temperature, the voltage and current of battery and solar panel, the controller switches the MOSFET on or off to achieve the function of control and protection.

1.Battery Reversed protection : If the "+" and "-" polarity reversed, please replace the fuse.

2.Solar Panel Reversed protection: If the "+" and "-" polarity reversed, please replace the polarity.

3.Overload and short circuit protection: If it happens that the load exceeds rated current or load short circuit, please replace the fuse.

4.Battery Open-circuited protection: When battery open-circuited, but the solar cell charging normally, the controller will cut off the load.

5.Overcharge protection: When the battery voltage is higher than protection voltage (14.4V/28.8V), the controller will shut down charging automatically. When the voltage drops to the recovery voltage (13.5V/27.0V), the battery goes into the floating charging mode. When the charging voltage is lower than recovery voltage (13.3V/26.6V), the floating charging mode will be ended, and the bulk charging mode will be activated.

6.When the battery voltage goes under protection voltage, the controller will shut down the output automatically to protect the battery.

7.Over-voltage protection: When the voltage is higher than 16.5V/33V, the output will be shut down automatically to protect loads.

Installation and usage: Please connect as the picture above. Please pay attention to the “+” and “-” polarity. Firstly, connect the battery; then the solar cells, once more the load.

The 4 LED of controller are match to the battery power and display the charging state, all lighting when the battery is full. To prevent the wrong action, under voltage protection, under voltage recovery and over pressure recovery have 10 seconds delay. Over voltage protection has no delay.

System provides precise timing function. Please refer to the supplemental information. The intensify type can be able to save the data after the power-down.
