Prepacked Baby Cos Lettuce Hearts (04/09/2005)
Specifications: Product offering Fresh pre-packed baby cos lettuce hearts, varieties amadeus, naples and sweet gem. We are currently ready to supply amadeus green pre-packed baby cos hearts for export. This is a new product offering traditionally sell 1.5kg and 3kg baby cos leaves, but found the this caused low shelf life and reduced fresh offering for the consumer. Our new pre-packed baby cos hearts, are grow fresh to around 4-5 weeks, then we cut out the heart, wash it and pre-pack the product to lock in the freshness. Currently we are supplying the Australian domestic consumers and sales have been well supported. Varieties We have 3 variety available, the 'amadeus' which is a standard green baby cos lettuce, new 'naples' variety which is a dark red colored baby cos lettuce and the 'sweet gem' which is a dark green variety and is a sweet lettuce. The amadeus variety is ready to go and the other two varieties we are still testing and samples will be available for serious customers late february. Packaging The product itself is flow wrapped in breathable plastic film and a branding sticker is placed on the front. The finished product is packed into a 2 piece carton which holds 21 head of lettuce. You have the opportunity to receive 7 of each variety in a carton or 21 of the one variety. Our farming operation We are based in Australia around 40min from the melbourne cbd and are working around 380 acres of property. The farm has been growing lettuce for over 100 years in this area and is highly regarded by all major supermarket chains and wholesale distributors. Further to this all parts of the operation from farming, packing to transport are quality assured to a haccp standard. Transport We have a strong relationship with DHL danza air and Ocean and can arrange for logistics right to your warehouse door in under 24 hours from pick, to all capital cities throughout Asia. Type of customers we are looking for? This product offering is predominantly a retail product, we are looking at working closely with importers throughout the Asia region that are involved with major supermarket or retail clients.
