Owing to its tendency&nbs p;to hydrogen-bond, gaseous formic acid&n bsp;does not obey the ideal gas ;law. Solid formic acid (two polymor phs) consists of an effectively endl ess network of hydrogen-bonded formic&nbs p;acid molecules. This relatively complic ated compound also forms a low-boili ng azeotrope with water (22.4%) and& nbsp;liquid formic acid also tends t o supercool.
