PET Crystallized Drying System (02/28/2006)
For high polymers with moisture absorption traits, such as PET, PA, and PC, they must undergo crystallization and drying treatment before they are bi-axially oriented. One is to enhance the softening point of the polymer, so as to prevent the colophony particles from conglutinated and agglomerated during drying, melting and extruding. The other is to remove the water in the colophony, so as to prevent the ester base polymer from hydrolyzing and producing air bubbles during drying, melting and extruding. Our PET crystallization and drying equipment features a packed tower with crystal bed, meanwhile it is outfitted with dry air preparation setting that includes an air compressor, molecule griddle moisture extractor, and heater. The crystallization and drying temperature must be kept between 150 and 170°C with 3.5-4 hours of drying. The moisture contents of PET slices after being dried is required to remain below 50ppm.
