Specifications: The NKBIOTECH One Step Chloramphenicol Test Strip is a rapid test to qualitatively detect the presence of Chloramphenicol in specimens at the sensitivity of 0.3ppb. The major advantages of the one step test strip are that results can be obtained within 10 min and that all reagents are included in the test device. It also relatively has many other advantages such as lower cost, fewer lable and berif sample preparation than the traditional test methods. Chloramphenicol is a broad spectrum antibiotic which is frequently employed in animal production for its excellent antibacterial and pharmacokinetic properties. However, in humans it leads to hematotoxic side effects, in particular chloramphenicol-induced aplastic anaemia for which a dosage-effect relationship has not yet been established. This has LED to a prohibition of chloramphenicol for the treatment of animals used for food production. Chloramphenicol residues were determined either radioimmunologically or gas chromatographically. Enzyme immunoassays, however, show considerable advantages over conventional methods.
