Intermediate Bulk Containers (01/07/2006)
Specifications: The amount of ultraviolet (UV) flux at the earth surface has been well documented by the scientific community. These measurements show that while global areas in the middle latitude degrees show the highest energy (200 kilolangley), the surface radiation in Australia can also typically range from 180 to 200 kilolangley. This energy level is much higher than central Europe, which ranges from 100 to 140 kilolangley. UV radiation affects not only human health and crop growth, but also plastic articles used outdoors. We at DSL recognize this phenomena and have drawn on the expertise of industry leaders in the provision of UV protection of HDPE to provide a stabilizer package that provides the same extended service life here in Australia as users in Europe have long experienced. To achieve this service life DSL has increased the UV package over that normally used for the well established European market. The UV package incorporated in the high molecular weight, high density polyethylene (HDPE), used to produce our IBCs is a blend of Hindered Amine Light Stabilizers and Hindered Amine Derivative and substituted Benzotriazole low chemical reactivity UV stabilizers. This UV package has been in use under Australian conditions for a well proven long term service history. The package is designed specifically for use in HDPE packaging applications intended for extended outdoor use throughout Australia and New Zealand. We at DSL are confident in respect to weatherability that when used for compatible liquids and within acceptable good manufacturing practice, the Australian made Schuetz IBC will achieve a satisfactory service life of over five years, including outside storage in excess of three years.

Specifications: Mail Order Catalogue toy pallets normally carry the large electric jeeps, go carts, motorbikes. They also carry the smaller toys but the overall quantities on the pallet are lower than on the High Street, for example a Mail Order pallet would normally carry around 30 to 50 items whilst the High Street pallets carry 70 to 99. We also find that the returns from Mail Order companies tend to be in a better overall condition but that the retail value is higher than the average High Street store. The stocks we have from the High Street stores tend to have a much larger range of goods, in general they carry around 70 to 99 items per pallet but they only have the odd large toy such as the electric jeeps or motorbikes. In our experience the general condition of these pallets is not as good as the Mail Order customer returns but this is compensated by the fact that the retail value of the goods is much lower. For example an item that the Mail Order would charge say GBP29.99 for could be GBP5.00 or even GBP10 cheaper on the high street store stocks, this difference will normally allow for the extra damage or for any scrap element you may find in the pallets.
